Spotify Introduces AI Tool For Personal Podcast Creation Inside App

Spotify has launched a new artificial intelligence feature that allows users to generate personalized podcast-style audio content directly within its app.

The feature, currently in beta testing, enables users to create private audio briefings using AI tools that convert notes, schedules, articles and other personal data into podcast-style summaries.

According to the company, the tool connects Spotify with external AI systems including OpenAI’s Codex, Anthropic’s Claude Code, and OpenClaw, allowing users to generate customised audio content through simple prompts.

Users can input instructions such as daily schedules, study notes or topic summaries, and the system converts them into personalized audio episodes that are saved in their Spotify library.

Examples include:

  • Morning briefings with calendar reminders and weather updates
  • Study podcasts generated from academic notes
  • Topic explainers, such as sports history or current events

Spotify said the feature is designed to help users consume personalised information in audio form while multitasking.

The company clarified that the AI-generated podcasts remain private and are not visible to other users on the platform.

It also noted that the feature is available to eligible Free and Premium users globally, though usage limits may apply during the testing phase.

Spotify said it will continue refining the tool based on user feedback as it expands the beta programme.

The launch reflects a broader trend of integrating artificial intelligence into media platforms, where personalised content generation is becoming a key focus.

With this move, Spotify is positioning itself beyond music streaming into AI-driven personalised audio experiences, allowing users to turn everyday information into on-demand spoken content.
