Pro Wrestling Legend Hulk Hogan Dies at 71

USA: Professional wrestling icon Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has confirmed.

Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea, was one of the most recognizable figures in sports entertainment history. Known for his trademark blonde handlebar mustache, bandana, and catchphrases like Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you?, Hogan played a pivotal role in transforming professional wrestling from a niche regional attraction into a global pop culture phenomenon during the 1980s.

He rose to fame in WWE then known as the World Wrestling Federation (WWF)—where he became the face of the company’s explosive growth under Vince McMahon’s leadership.

Hogan headlined multiple WrestleMania events, including the landmark WrestleMania III in 1987, where he famously body-slammed Andre the Giant before a record-breaking crowd at the Pontiac Silverdome.

Outside the ring, Hogan became a household name through movies, TV shows, and endorsements, helping to bring wrestling into the mainstream consciousness. His charisma, physique, and larger-than-life persona earned him fans across generations.

Though his later years were marked by controversy and legal battles, Hogan remained a revered figure in wrestling, ultimately being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.

Tributes have poured in from fans and fellow wrestlers around the world, remembering the man who defined an era of professional wrestling.

Further details surrounding his death have not yet been disclosed.
