ABUJA: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has honoured the Super Falcons with national awards, cash prizes, and housing gifts following their record-breaking 10th title at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
At a ceremony held in Abuja, the President conferred the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on all 24 players for their outstanding achievement in African women’s football.
The Super Falcons, led by captain Rasheedat Ajibade, presented the WAFCON trophy to President Tinubu, who praised the team’s determination and resilience. He shared his emotional reaction to the final match against Morocco, calling their victory a moment of immense pride for all Nigerians.

Ajibade assured the President that the team is focused on even greater heights:We are committed to becoming the best women’s football team in the world,” she said.
