ASABA: Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, on the occasion of his 42nd birthday, commending the monarch’s leadership and contributions to peace, unity and development in the state.
In a goodwill message issued in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described the Warri monarch as a symbol of stability whose reign has continued to strengthen traditional institutions and promote harmony among communities.
Governor Oborevwori noted that since ascending the throne, the revered Itsekiri monarch has played a vital role in advancing cultural pride, fostering peaceful coexistence and supporting initiatives aimed at economic progress across Delta State.
He said the monarch’s growing influence has extended beyond the Warri Kingdom, adding that his leadership continues to attract positive attention to the Niger Delta region.
On behalf of my family, the government and the good people of Delta State, I warmly celebrate His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri, as he marks his 42nd birth anniversary, the governor stated.
According to him, the monarch’s reign has been characterized by dignity, vision and a strong commitment to the wellbeing of his people.
Oborevwori further praised the monarch for his dedication to strengthening the traditional institution and encouraging unity among ethnic groups in Delta State.
He also highlighted the Olu’s contributions to the socio-economic advancement of the Warri axis, noting that the monarch’s leadership has helped position the area as an important cultural and economic hub within the Niger Delta.
The governor expressed confidence that the monarch’s continued leadership would bring greater progress and development to the Warri Kingdom and the state as a whole.
He prayed for God to grant the traditional ruler more wisdom, strength and good health to continue serving his people and humanity.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working closely with traditional rulers across Delta State in promoting peace, development and community growth.
Ogiame Atuwatse III ascended the throne as the 21st Olu of Warri in August 2021 and has since been widely recognised for his efforts in promoting cultural heritage, youth empowerment and development initiatives in the Warri Kingdom.
