ABUJA: Actor Prince Eke has stirred controversy after claiming that the life sentence handed to IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu by the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, November 20, is nothing more than a political script.
In a post shared on his Instagram page, the actor alleged that the ruling was strategically planned ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, Kanu’s eventual release will be used by the political class as a bargaining chip to secure votes from the South-East.
Eke wrote that Nigerian politicians already know what they are doing, insisting that the sentence is not final and that Kanu’s freedom is being kept as a political tool.
The actor’s comments have since sparked heated reactions online, with many Nigerians debating whether his claims reflect the political realities of the coming election season or are simply a conspiracy theory.
The court had earlier convicted Kanu on multiple terrorism-related charges before issuing the life sentence, a judgment that has dominated political and social conversations nationwide.
