LAGOS: Nnayerugo, popularly known as Killaboi, has told a court that his late girlfriend, Augusta Onuwaghagbe, allegedly demanded ₦1.5 million for a sexual encounter before their relationship broke down in 2023.
The defendant, who is standing trial for the alleged murder of Augusta, gave the account while testifying in court, recounting events he said occurred in June 2023, weeks before her body was discovered.
According to his testimony, he monitored Augusta’s Instagram activities and allegedly posed as another man, identified as “Yako,” during WhatsApp conversations with her.
Killaboi told the court that the exchanges led him to believe that Augusta was demanding ₦1.5 million for a sexual encounter without a condom, subject to medical tests.

He said he subsequently confronted her during a video call and ended their relationship over what he claimed to have discovered. He also told the court that he informed Augusta’s mother about the situation, but she reportedly described his actions as wrong.
The claims were presented as part of the defendant’s account of the events leading up to Augusta’s death. They remain his testimony and should not be treated as independently established facts.
Augusta’s mutilated body was discovered at Killaboi’s residence in Lagos in July 2023, according to the account of the case.
Following the discovery, the defendant reportedly fled Nigeria before he was eventually extradited to face trial.
Killaboi has pleaded not guilty to the murder allegation.
The case has attracted considerable public attention because of the circumstances surrounding Augusta’s death and the subsequent investigation into the incident.
The defendant’s testimony provides his version of the events preceding the killing, but the court will have to assess the evidence presented by both the prosecution and the defence in determining the case.
The proceedings are expected to continue as the court considers the testimony and other evidence relating to the alleged murder.
