Jubilation As Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Distributes Electric Vehicles to Kogi Beneficiaries

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has handed over electric vehicles to trained beneficiaries across Kogi Central Senatorial District as part of an empowerment initiative aimed at promoting clean energy transportation and economic development.

The vehicles were officially presented during a ceremony held in Lokoja, Kogi State, with beneficiaries drawn from the district’s five local government areas.

According to reports, participants underwent intensive technical and operational training conducted by engineers from the Electric Motor Vehicle Company before receiving the vehicles.

The training programme, fully sponsored by the senator, was designed to ensure beneficiaries possess the skills required for safe operation and maintenance of electric automobiles.

Speaking at the event, Akpoti-Uduaghan highlighted the global transition toward sustainable energy solutions, describing electric vehicles as central to the future of transportation.

She explained that the initiative goes beyond vehicle distribution, noting that it is intended to create sustainable livelihoods, build technical capacity, and position youths and entrepreneurs in Kogi Central to benefit from emerging technological opportunities.

The lawmaker stressed that empowerment programmes must combine innovation with responsibility, urging beneficiaries to comply with traffic regulations, avoid reckless driving, and maintain the vehicles properly.

Akpoti-Uduaghan encouraged recipients to utilize the vehicles not only for personal benefit but also to support their communities and generate economic value across the senatorial district.

She further offered prayers for the safety and prosperity of the beneficiaries, expressing hope that the initiative would contribute to progress, innovation, and improved living standards within Kogi Central.

The electric mobility programme forms part of ongoing constituency interventions by the senator aimed at youth empowerment, job creation, and environmental sustainability through alternative energy adoption.
