The bout, which took place at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event in Lagos, ended in a unanimous decision victory for Carter Efe, with all three judges scoring the contest 30–27 in his favour. The result brought an end to Portable’s reign as the celebrity boxing champion.
In an emotional Instagram live session shortly after the fight, Portable lashed out at the organisers and judges, alleging bias and poor officiating.
According to him, several of his punches were ignored while his opponent relied on physical advantages rather than skill.
He argued that blows landing on the shoulder or arms should still have been counted, accusing officials of deliberately overlooking his efforts. The singer also complained about Carter Efe’s use of reach and height, claiming it gave him an unfair edge during the bout.
Portable went further to demand payment allegedly tied to the event’s streaming revenue, warning organisers to settle outstanding sums.
Despite his frustration, the controversial performer struck a more reflective tone when speaking about personal priorities. He revealed that the birth of his newborn son overshadowed the disappointment of losing the fight.
To him, championship belts are replaceable, but family is not a sentiment he emphasized while downplaying the significance of the defeat.
Before the fight, Portable had exuded confidence, boasting of securing a third title after previous wins over Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington.
Carter Efe, however, dismissed the bravado, predicting a quick finish — a statement that proved prophetic.
Inside the ring, the comedian controlled the pace across three rounds, effectively using his longer reach and composure to outbox Portable. Cleaner punches and superior positioning ultimately convinced the judges, sealing his victory and crowning him the new celebrity boxing champion.
Celebrity boxing matches continue to gain traction in Nigeria, blending entertainment, rivalry, and social media influence into headline-grabbing spectacles. Events like Chaos in the Ring are increasingly drawing public attention, with fans eager to see their favourite personalities settle scores outside their usual craft.
For Portable, however, the loss is unlikely to be the end of the story. Known for his outspoken nature, the singer’s reaction suggests the rivalry and the controversy may linger well beyond the final bell.
