LAGOS: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, a former South-West zonal coordinator of the women’s wing of the City Boy Movement, over allegations bordering on obtaining money by false pretence.
Tejuosho was reportedly taken into EFCC custody on September 8, 2026, with the anti-graft agency confirming the development several weeks after she had been declared wanted in connection with an ongoing fraud investigation.
EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed that Tejuosho was in the commission’s custody.
The arrest followed an investigation that reportedly began in 2025 after complaints were received concerning alleged promises to secure federal government appointments and contracts for individuals who paid money to her.
EFCC Investigation Traced to 2025
According to information from the EFCC, Tejuosho was initially invited for questioning in June 2025 after allegations were made that she collected money from individuals while claiming she could facilitate government appointments and contracts.
Investigators reportedly alleged that forged documents and fabricated appointment letters were used in the process to create the impression that the promised appointments and government opportunities were genuine.
Tejuosho, 41, is identified as the founder of Haleems Integrated Services Limited.
She was reportedly released on administrative bail at the time while investigations continued.
However, the EFCC later declared her wanted in April 2026 after efforts to establish her whereabouts became necessary in connection with the investigation.
The commission subsequently appealed to members of the public who had information about her location to contact its offices or the nearest police station.
City Boy Movement Suspended Tejuosho
Following the EFCC’s declaration, the City Boy Movement announced the suspension of Tejuosho from her position as South-West zonal coordinator of the movement’s women’s wing.
The organisation said the decision was intended to protect its image and credibility while allowing the investigation to proceed without interference.
The City Boy Movement is a youth-oriented political organisation that has publicly expressed support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration and its Renewed Hope Agenda.
Tejuosho’s suspension came as the allegations against her were being investigated by the EFCC, separating the organisation from the individual at the centre of the probe.
What the EFCC Investigation Means
The allegations against Tejuosho centre on claims that individuals were asked to provide money in exchange for assistance in securing government appointments and contracts.
The reported use of allegedly forged appointment letters and other documents forms part of the issues being examined by investigators.
Her arrest, however, does not amount to a conviction. The allegations remain subject to investigation and any subsequent legal proceedings that may arise from the case.
