ISOKO: Arube Otor, popularly known as Isoko Fela One, a renowned Delta State highlife musician, is making headlines with his forthcoming wedding to three women at the same time.
The much-anticipated ceremony is scheduled for 19 January 2025 at the Anglican Church Field, London Base, Uzere Kingdom, in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.
A veteran of over three decades in the music industry, Isoko Fela One is celebrated for his mastery of Isoko highlife music. He established the Aruba Dance Band about 10 years ago and has released more than 10 albums.
In widely circulated pre-wedding photographs, the singer posed in coordinated outfits with his three brides-to-be: Oghenekome, Ewoma, and Oghenekaro.
Arube hails from Uzere Kingdom in Isoko South LGA, while his wives-to-be are from different communities:
-
Oghenekome is from Lagos-Iyede in Ndokwa East LGA
-
Ewoma is from Oruamudhu, Ozoro Kingdom in Isoko North LGA
-
Oghenekaro is from Uroto Quarter, also in Ozoro Kingdom, Isoko North LGA.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the singer’s foster son, Emperor Efih (Oscar), confirmed that the wedding would take place at the same venue and time. He explained that the decision was partly due to cost-cutting measures.
Efih revealed that the plan initially involved four women, but one later withdrew for personal reasons. He also disclosed that the musician previously married two women about 20 years ago, though one later divorced him.
None of the three brides is from his community, so he did not woo them in the same place or at the same time.
Two of the women already have children for him, while the third is still believing God for hers. He also performed the traditional rites with them on the same day last year, Efih stated.
The event has stirred widespread interest both within and beyond Delta State, with many describing it as one of the most unusual weddings in recent times.
