British-Nigerian actress and singer Cynthia Erivo is set to receive a special honour at the American Ballet Theatre’s 2026 Fall Gala, scheduled to take place in New York City.
The award-winning performer will be recognised at the gala, themed “Angels and Demons,” on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center.
Erivo, one of the most acclaimed performers of her generation, has built a remarkable career spanning film, television, theatre and music. She is a recipient of Grammy, Daytime Emmy and Tony Awards, and has also earned three Academy Award nominations.
The actress gained international prominence for her portrayal of Elphaba in the Wicked film adaptations. Her performance in the musical fantasy further cemented her status as a leading figure in contemporary entertainment.
Her musical success has also continued alongside her acting career. Erivo won her second Grammy Award in 2025 for “Defying Gravity,” her collaboration with pop star Ariana Grande, who plays Glinda in Wicked.
Earlier in 2026, Erivo returned to London’s West End in Dracula, where she reportedly took on 23 different characters in the one-woman production.
Her latest recognition comes as she continues to expand an already impressive list of honours and nominations.
Erivo is also in contention for a Primetime Emmy Award this year, with two nominations reportedly coming from her work on the 2025 Tony Awards and Wicked: One Wonderful Night.
