In a video that has gone viral, the Argentine national team and Chelsea player Enzo Fernandez can be heard yelling a song that has been called “racist” and “discriminatory” targeting all Black players.
Fernandez’s Chelsea team-mate Wesley Fofana, who is French and the son of an Ivorian father, took to X (formerly Twitter) to declare the video ‘uninhibited racism’.
It has been revealed that Axel Disasi, and Malo Gusto have unfollowed the player on social media.
Philippe Diallo, President of the French Football Federation (FFF). has condemned the players’ actions, stating that they sang a chant that was “racist and discriminatory” towards their French counterparts.
He has also announced plans to file a legal complaint with FIFA. The video has sparked widespread criticism, and Fernandez is now at the center of a brewing storm
In the video, which has since gone viral, Argentine players are heard singing lyrics that describe French footballers as being ‘from Angola’ and making derogatory remarks about their ancestry and sexuality, specifically targeting French star Kylian Mbappé.
