UNITED KINGDOM: Catherine, Princess of Wales, played a central role in welcoming the Emir of Qatar and his wife during their state visit to the UK on Tuesday, as she joined her husband, Prince William, to greet the royal guests.
The event, held at Horse Guards Parade and Whitehall, marked a significant return for Kate following her recovery from chemotherapy earlier this year. However, Queen Camilla was absent from the start of the proceedings due to a chest infection, which was later confirmed as a form of pneumonia.
While Kate donned a burgundy coat for the ceremonial welcome, Queen Camilla, who has been experiencing lingering side effects from the infection, greeted the Emir and his wife upon their arrival at Buckingham Palace but was unable to attend the full schedule of events. Doctors have advised her to rest, and she will take breaks throughout the week as needed.

The state visit also included a military honor guard inspection and a carriage procession, with the Emir expected to meet UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and visit the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on Wednesday.
