Mbiri Community Donates 22.5 Hectares of Land to University of Delta Agbor

 

AGBOR: In a significant show of support for educational growth, the Mbiri Community in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State has generously donated 22.5 hectares of land to the University of Delta Agbor (UNIDEL). The official handover of the land was made by the Obi of Mbiri, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Alekwe, during a formal event hosted in honour of the University’s management team.

The donation of the land is a testament to the community’s commitment to fostering educational development in the region. His Royal Majesty, Dr. Alekwe, explained that the decision to donate the land was driven by the community’s strong desire to contribute to the growth and expansion of UNIDEL.

This gesture highlights the community’s recognition of the importance of education in shaping the future of the local population and beyond. By offering this land, the Mbiri community has not only provided physical space for future campus development but has also reaffirmed its dedication to supporting institutions that will bring lasting progress to the area.

During the visit, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, Emeritus Prof. Emmanuel Nwanze, led a delegation that included other members of the University’s management team. The Pro-Chancellor expressed heartfelt gratitude for the generous donation, acknowledging the Mbiri community’s unwavering commitment to education.

In addition to the land donation, the delegation also visited the Vocational Education Center within Mbiri.
