KANO: Stop parading Yourselves as Emirs. Court tells Ado Bayero and 4 others

KANO:  Justice Amina Aliyu of the Kano high court today has perpetually restrained the deposed emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Bayero, from parading himself as emir of Kano.

The court also restrained the other four emirs of Bichi, Gaya, Karaye and Rano, who were deposed alongside Mr Bayero by the new Kano Emirate law, from parading themselves as emirs.

The judgement was  delivered by Justice  Amina Aliyu of the Kana  High court on Monday over the case filed by Kano state government, Justice Aliyu in her judgement restrained the 15th Emir of Kanoo Bayero  and the four other emirs, along with their servants, privies, and any other persons appointed by them, from parading themselves in their former capacities as Emirs of Kano, Bichi, Gaya, Rano, and Karaye.

In order to prevent Mr. Bayero and the other four emirs of Karaye, Bichi, Rano, and Gaya from presenting themselves as emirs, the state government had beseeched the court.
Regarding the matter of the state government’s threat to evict the deposed emir from the royal residence in Nassarawa, the court declared that it falls under the purview of the rent tribunal.
In her statement, Justice Aliyu ordered Mr. Bayero and the other four emirs  to promptly hand over all royal treasures in their possession  to the government and Emir Muhammadu Sanusi ll.

The judge further asserted that the Kano State Emirate Council Repeal Law 2024 was implemented in compliance with section 4 of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Constitutions.
