AKWA IBOM: The wife of Akwa Ibom state Governor Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno is dead
When the news of Patience’s passing broke, it sent shocking waves.The cold hands of death snatched her unannounced. In a press release sent early on Friday morning, the First Lady’s death was confirmed by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong.
The commissioner states that on September 26, 2024, the First Lady passed away in a hospital surrounded by her family.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, after a illness,” the statement headlined “Unexpected Sunset” stated.
On September 26, 2024, she passed away away peacefully in the hospital in the presence of her family.
The family asks for the prayers and support of kind-hearted people at this trying time, and they submit all to the will of the Almighty.
She clocked 57 in February. For many, the news was unbelievable. In September, she hosted 600 Senior Citizens from the 31 Local Government Areas and non-indigenes to the fifth edition of the ARISE Initiative for the Elderly at the Banquet Hall of Government House Uyo, where they received stipends of N50,000 each and free medical care.
Her death re-echoes the words of English poet and playwright, Williams Shakespeare, who described the world as a stage and each person plays his part and leaves.
