LAGOS: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu have led prominent Nigerian and international figures in celebrating the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, on the occasion of his 84th birthday.

In a goodwill message released on Monday, the President and his wife described Pastor Adeboye as a spiritual icon whose humility, wisdom, and decades of service have continued to shape Nigeria and the global Christian community.

The First Family praised the revered cleric fondly called Daddy G.O. for his unwavering prayers for the nation and his far-reaching contributions to education, healthcare, philanthropy, and human development initiatives.

According to the statement, Adeboye remains “one of Nigeria’s greatest gifts,” whose spiritual leadership has impacted millions across continents while promoting peace, moral values, and national unity.

Joining the felicitations, Vice President Kashim Shettima commended the cleric’s enduring influence, describing him as a moral compass whose teachings continue to inspire responsible leadership and societal transformation.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio also hailed Adeboye’s lifetime devotion to spiritual mentorship, noting that his ministry has strengthened faith and hope among Nigerians during challenging periods.

Governors across the country equally paid glowing tributes, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who described the octogenarian cleric as a global ambassador of faith and humility.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and business magnate Aliko Dangote was among other high-profile Nigerians who celebrated Adeboye’s legacy, acknowledging his role in promoting ethical leadership and national development through faith-based initiatives.

The President and First Lady also congratulated Pastor Foluke Adeboye, the RCCG family, and the global Christian community, thanking God for what they described as an extraordinary life devoted to service and spiritual stewardship.

They highlighted Adeboye’s more than five decades of leadership, noting that his teachings have transformed lives across generations and expanded the RCCG into one of the world’s fastest-growing Christian movements.
