Presidency Backs EFCC in Manhunt for Atiku’s Son-in-Law

Haske, the founder of AA & R Investment Group, is accused of violating the conditions of his administrative bail and ignoring repeated invitations for questioning.

According to EFCC sources, the businessman had been under investigation for several months but went into hiding after securing bail.

“He would not have been declared wanted if he had remained in the country and honoured our invitations, an official familiar with the case said.

The EFCC has since published Haske’s last known addresses in Ikoyi and Victoria Island, Lagos, and appealed to the public for information that could aid his arrest.

Reacting to the development, Atiku’s spokesperson, Paul Ibe, dismissed the EFCC’s action as a clear case of political persecution against the former Vice President’s family.

But the Presidency swiftly countered, insisting the anti-graft agency was acting strictly within its mandate. Special Adviser to the President on Media and Communication, Sunday Dare, stated:

There is no harassment or victimisation here, only the independent and lawful operation of Nigeria’s anti-corruption institutions. No one is above the law.

Dare further stressed that the Tinubu administration remains committed to due process and strengthening the rule of law, unlike past governments that allegedly weaponised state agencies for political gain.

“Those attempting to politicise the arrest of a son-in-law to a former Vice President are grasping at straws, he added.
