Man Axed to Death by Lover’s Children, Friends in Delta Community

WARRI: Tragedy struck in Orerokpe Community, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, as a man identified as Rossy Omatseye was allegedly axed to death by the children and friends of his lover.

The shocking incident reportedly occurred on Monday, November 10, following a heated argument between the deceased and his lover.

According to local sources, after the dispute, the woman’s children, upon hearing of the confrontation, allegedly mobilized their friends and stormed Omatseye’s residence. The group reportedly attacked him with an axe, killing him on the spot.

In a twist of events, members of the deceased’s family, who hail from Ekpan Community in Uvwie Local Government Area, were said to have mobilized to Orerokpe in a bid to avenge his death an action that caused serious tension in the area.

Security operatives, however, moved swiftly to restore peace and prevent a full-scale clash between the two communities.

As of the time of filing this report, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, is yet to officially confirm the incident.
