Delta APC Elects Solomon Arenyeka as Chairman, Oborevwori Rallies Party for 2027 Electoral Victory

ASABA: The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has elected Chief Solomon Arenyeka as its new State Chairman following a consensus-based congress held in Asaba, with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori urging the newly inaugurated leadership to immediately commence mobilisation efforts toward victory in the 2027 general elections.

The state congress, held at the Cenotaph Asaba, brought together party delegates and stakeholders from across Delta State, culminating in the emergence of a new State Working Committee (SWC) through affirmation by consensus.

Alongside Arenyeka, Elder Moses Iduh emerged as Deputy Chairman, while Chief Efe Uko was elected State Secretary.

Other officials elected include Chief Paulinus Akpeki (Delta Central Chairman), Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba (Delta South Chairman), Engr. Daniel Ossai (Delta North Chairman), Elder Emmanuel Egbabor (State Organising Secretary), Barr. Valentine Onojeghuo (State Publicity Secretary), Mrs. Ifeyinwa Sobotie (Woman Leader), and Christopher Agali (Youth Leader).

Earlier, former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei, moved a motion dissolving the outgoing executive committee led by Omeni Sobotie, a motion seconded by party leader Olorogun O’tega Emerhor and adopted without opposition.

Addressing party members, Governor Oborevwori commended the outgoing leadership for stabilising the party during a critical political transition period and described the peaceful conduct of congresses across the state’s wards and local government areas as evidence of unity within the APC.

He emphasized that the party must now consolidate its structure at the grassroots level and work toward delivering electoral victories for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in 2027.

In his acceptance speech, Arenyeka expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to lead with integrity, inclusiveness and teamwork.

He assured party faithful that the new executive would strengthen internal cohesion while positioning the Delta APC as a formidable political force ahead of future elections.

The congress concluded amid celebrations, signaling the beginning of renewed political strategising within the Delta APC as preparations gradually intensify toward the next electoral cycle.
