ASABA: Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu has raised alarm over the alleged abduction of a 22-year-old lady, identified as Uche Chukwurah, who went missing after boarding a commercial tricycle, popularly known as Keke Napep, in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
Gwamnishu made the disclosure in a post on his Instagram page on Friday morning, November 1. According to him, Uche had closed from work and was returning home when she boarded a Keke at Ibusa Junction in Asaba but never made it to her destination.
The activist stated that since the incident, Uche has not been seen or heard from, and her family has reportedly been contacted by the kidnappers, who are demanding a ransom for her release.
She left works that evening and boarded a Keke at Ibusa junction. Since then, no one has heard from her. The kidnappers have reached out to her family and are asking for ransom, Gwamnishu wrote.
He called on the Delta State Police Command and relevant security agencies to act swiftly to ensure Uche’s safe return and to address the growing concerns over insecurity and abductions in Asaba and other parts of the state.
The police have yet to release an official statement on the case as of press time.
