WARRI: The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has partnered with Chevron Nigeria Limited to construct the 70.75km Omadino-Okerenkoko-Escravos Road and bridges in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State. This strategic collaboration is aimed at enhancing connectivity between Warri and Escravos, a key hub for oil and gas activities, thereby stimulating economic growth in the region.
Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, NDDC Managing Director, reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to completing the Omadino-Escravos Road project, emphasizing that it will not only increase oil production but also transform the economic landscape of the area. Escravos has been recognized as a priority for economic development, and the NDDC is working to enhance its accessibility through broad stakeholder support.

This initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s focus on stakeholder engagement, with the NDDC adopting a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model to accelerate project delivery.
Dr. Ogbuku pointed to the successful collaboration between Shell Petroleum Development Company and NDDC on the 25.7km Ogbia-Nembe Road as a blueprint for future partnerships.
The partnership is expected to foster economic growth and create new opportunities for local communities, contributing significantly to the development of the Niger Delta region.
