FC Barcelona has on its official social media platform announced the signing of another player
FC Barcelona and Girona FC have agreed for the player, Pau Victor to remain at the Barca club until June 30, 2029,” a statement on the development read, before the Barcelona began to share the 22-year-old’s backstory.
Pau Victor started his football journey at Junior FC at a tender age of six before he move to Sabadell in his teens. Bought by Girona’s academy, it took the young lad two years for him to progress to its reserve team and train with the seniors.
Victor, appear in eight Segunda Division across the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons, 2022/2023 saw Pau Victor loaned back to Sabadell where he scored seven goals and provided six assists.
Barca said it isn’t “hard to understand why” the club decided to buy Pau Victor outright considering his 20 goals that term, as he demonstrated “a habit of rising to the big occasion” with his strikes “naturally [having] a huge part to play in that season’s success”.
Girona FC gave Barca an option to buy him for $3.25 million (€3 million) expire meaning that many were led to think it would let Pau Victor slip through the net amid interest from other cubs in Spain and abroad.
FC Barcelona has seen many great potentials in Victor and therefor, would not let him go. The new contract will expire in 5 years time.
