President Bola Tinubu has weighed in on the planned goodgovernance nationwide protests schedule to hold on August 1 to August 10. saying that sponsors of the demonstrations do not love the country.
The number one citizen made the statement on Thursday while receiving a delegation of Islamic leaders led by Sheikh Bala Lau at the presidential villa Abuja.
Though the president did not identify any sponsor(s), he said those championing the cause of the protests have alternative passports and hold meetings virtually across the world.
Mr Tinubu reiterate that the sponsors of protests do not love our country. The presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelele quoted, ‘They have no love for this nation. They do not understand citizenship. They have alternative passports,
He goes on to say that the sponsors are holding virtual meetings while staying in different parts of the world. We do not wish for Nigeria to turn into Sudan. Not burials but hunger is what we are discussing. We need to take precaution. When it concerns bitter and furious politics, we ought to apply caution.
It is now conceivable to have meetings in fake settings because to the internet. “They convene meetings and foment enmity,” the President informed the religious authorities.
Protests fueled by hate and rage, according to President Tinubu, have the potential to turn violent and take the nation backward.

He maintained that his campaign was self-sponsored, without strings, or indebtedness to any individual or institution.
