Niger authorities and stakeholders to enhance funding for health facilities to eliminate malaria

 

The Civil Society for Malaria Management, Immunization, and Nutrition (CSMMID) has urged the Niger State Government to increase funding for primary healthcare delivery to achieve malaria elimination in the state.

Olasukanmi Kalejaiye, the State Coordinator, emphasized that robust public health programs at the state level are crucial for achieving this goal. He called upon state residents to actively support and advocate for their Primary Health Care (PHC) centers.

During an interactive session with the media on the Global Fund’s Community-Led Malaria Monitoring Project implemented by ACOMIN over the weekend, Kalejaiye announced that following the successful completion of the NFM 3 malaria grant, the Global Fund has approved another three-year malaria grant for Nigeria.

He emphasized the need for governments at all levels, the private sector, stakeholders, and particularly community leaders to commit to increasing financing for primary healthcare delivery.
