ENGLAND:Manchester City duo Phil Foden have been voted men’s PFA Player of the Year for last season 2023/2024 on Tuesday evening.
Foden recognition highlights Manchester City’s star’s impressive performances and potential over the past season.
The Professional Footballers Association PFA made the announcement on its X account(formally twitter),on Tuesday evening.
His competition included last year’s winner, Erling Haaland, along with City teammate Rodri, Arsenal’s Martin Ødegaard, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, and Cole Palmer.
Manchester City celebrated a PFA Player of the Year double on Tuesday night with Foden and Bunny Shaw claiming the men’s and women’s awards for the 2023-24 season.
Foden, 24, was instrumental in City winning a fourth consecutive Premier League title, scoring 19 goals and providing eight assists, and his achievements have now been recognised by his peersI
The England sensational player was also a standout in Europe, finishing City’s Champions League campaign with five goals and three assists in only eight appearances, including a super strike at the Santiago Bernabeu.
He is a two-time winner of the PFA Young Player of the Year award, having claimed the prize in both 2021 and 2022. He wins the PFA Player of the Year award for the first time, in the same season that also saw him awarded the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year title.
Foden edged teammates Erling Haaland and Rodri to clinch the title, with Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins also shortlisted in the award’s Top Six.

Cole Palmer Wins PFA Young Player of The Year
In the same vain. the young player award of FA for men goes to Chelsea attacking midfielder Cole Palmer. .
The 22-year-old scored 22 goals and assisted 11 others in the Premier League over the 2023/24 campaign, with only Erling Haaland netting more times than the England international.
The attacking midfielder made an impact during England’s EURO 2024 campaign. He helped England upset the Netherlands in the last seconds of the match by offering an essential assist to Ollie Watkins. Later, he scored the winning goal in England’s close loss to Spain.
Palmer topped Bukayo Saka and Kobbie Mainoo, two of his colleagues from England, who were also nominated, along was Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United.
The young lad scored 22 goals in the Premier League, second only to Erling Haaland of City, and more goals than any other Chelsea player.
