Men of the Niger State Police Command have arrested two men for stolen automobiles.The 2 suspects, Gwaza Bulus, 41, from Zango-Kataf, Kaduna State, and Yahaya Amodu, 45, from Kwakuti, Niger State, reportedly stole the automobile within the Abuja Central Mosque area during the Juma’at prayer.
Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who reported this in a press release dated Thursday, June 20, 2024, acknowledged;
The suspects were apprehended in the Sauka-Kahuta area of Minna, where they were in possession of a white Toyota Corolla with registration number ABC 72 NF, which was thought to be stolen.
“Bulus told investigators that he met Daniel in Abuja’s Area 3 and that they struck up a conversation after learning that each of them was a brother from Kaduna.
Daniel then introduced him to one Abdul and told him he was looking for a job, but Abdul said he had a car, so they might give him a promotion.
“Bulus went on to say that Abdul had gotten in touch with him on May 31 and given him a phony car key. He claimed Abdul told him the car could be parked on the area of the Abuja Central Mosque, next to the road DURING the Juma’at
They were later arrested once they tried to promote the automotive with no paperwork for the sum of six million 5 hundred thousand naira in Minna.
Nonetheless, the 2 suspects are under investigation at SCID Minna, while efforts are underway to arrest Abdul and the case will be transferred to the FCT Command for additional investigation and prosecution.
