Spotify announced on Monday that it paid more than $100 million to audio and video podcast creators worldwide during the first quarter of 2025, the first time the platform has disclosed such a figure.
The Swedish streaming giant, which reported a revenue of €15.7 billion ($17.9 billion) in 2024, highlighted the payout as a testament to its growing commitment to the creator economy.
For the first time, we’re revealing that Spotify paid out more than $100 million to podcast publishers and podcasters worldwide in the first quarter of 2025 alone,” the company said in a statement.
Spotify noted that the payments include ad-based revenue as well as income generated through the Spotify Partner Program, launched earlier this year in selected markets.
The program offers creators additional opportunities to monetise their content, further strengthening Spotify’s role as a leading platform for both audio and video creators.
