MARKUDI: Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has accused certain politicians currently serving in Nigeria’s National Assembly of fueling violent attacks in the state.
He described the situation as completely unacceptable.
Governor Alia made this claim during an interview on Politics Today, on aired on Friday.
While the governor did not specifically name the politicians involved, he revealed that an interim report from a judicial panel he established has already indicted several prominent figures.
He assured the public that he will act decisively once the final report is submitted next week.
The statement adds to growing concerns over the deteriorating security in Benue State. In recent weeks, communities have suffered repeated attacks, with the death toll rising.
The governor has previously described the situation as a form of terrorism, saying the state is under siege.
