Man City Beat Man Utd On Penalties 7-6 To Win Community Shield

ENGLAND: Manchester City football club won the Community Shield for the first time in four attempts after beating Manchester United on penalties on Saturday. following a 1-1 draw at Wembley Stadium.

James McAtee struck the post in the first half, but Erling Haaland was in short supply for most of the game, thus the Blues were unable to take full advantage on their possession. In the final minutes, Alejandro Garnacho scored for United off the bench.

Nevertheless, substitute Bernardo Silva in nod in an even later equalizer, and Manu Akanji scored the winning penalty as City won 7–6 in the shootout.

Also speaking, City manager Pep Guardiola said starting the new season with a title is a really good thing.

He said, “To start the season with a title is good. We are really pleased.“It is nice to play this game because it means you won something in the previous season.

“Now we see how the players come back. The target now is to win the Premier League. It is ‘OK, next game, try and win it’. This is what we have to do.”
