Nigerian music executive and Mavin Records founder, Don Jazzy, has unveiled a 2027 technology scholarship programme aimed at helping Nigerians acquire in-demand digital skills and improve their career opportunities.
The scholarship, organised in partnership with TS Academy, offers successful applicants tuition support of up to ₦447,000, with eligible beneficiaries receiving between partial and full tuition coverage depending on the award granted.
The initiative also includes plans to distribute 50 laptops and provide internet data support to selected participants, giving more young Nigerians access to technology education and practical digital training.
Don Jazzy announced the programme in a video, encouraging young people to take learning and skills development seriously as technology continues to reshape employment and business opportunities.
The scholarship provides access to training in several technology, business and creative fields.
The available courses include Artificial Intelligence and Automation, Data Analytics, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Virtual Assistance, Software Development, Digital Marketing, Product Design, Project Management, Content Creation and Graphic Design.
Other options include Frontend Development, Backend Development and DevOps Engineering.
According to information published by TS Academy, most of the courses are beginner-friendly. Applicants therefore do not necessarily need previous experience in technology to enrol.
The programme is structured to accommodate people who are interested in developing new digital skills, including those looking to begin a career in the technology industry.
Beyond financial assistance with tuition, the programme is expected to offer participants practical learning opportunities and support to help them build relevant professional skills.
Other benefits include mentorship, accredited certificates, internship opportunities and job placement assistance.
Successful applicants may receive up to 100 per cent tuition coverage, depending on the scholarship category awarded.
The organisers also plan to provide 50 laptops and internet data to selected beneficiaries to support their training.
However, applicants should understand that the scholarship does not eliminate every cost. Successful candidates are still required to pay an application fee, although the programme provides a discount.
