Bayern Munich Clinch 35th Bundesliga Title After Comeback Win Over Stuttgart

MUNICH: FC Bayern Munich secured a record-extending 35th Bundesliga title after coming from behind to defeat VfB Stuttgart 4-2 on Sunday.

The victory, achieved with four matches still to play, further underlines Bayern’s dominance in German football, having now won 13 of the last 14 league titles

England captain Harry Kane scored his 32nd league goal of the season, continuing a prolific campaign. He was joined on the scoresheet by Raphaël Guerreiro, Nicolas Jackson, and Alphonso Davies.

Stuttgart had taken an early lead through Chris Führich, but Bayern responded emphatically, scoring three goals in just seven minutes to seize control before halftime. Chema Andrés added a late consolation for the visitors.

Head coach Vincent Kompany rotated his squad ahead of a crucial German Cup semi-final, leaving several key players—including Manuel Neuer—on the bench.

Despite the changes, Bayern showed depth and resilience, overturning the deficit with a dominant attacking display.

Bayern’s triumph highlights a remarkable campaign:

  • 109 goals scored — a new Bundesliga record
  • 79 points so far, with potential to reach 91
  • +80 goal difference, which could exceed their points tally

If maintained, Bayern could match their historic 2012–13 points record.

Kane’s outstanding form puts him within reach of Robert Lewandowski’s single-season Bundesliga record of 41 goals.

Meanwhile, Michael Olise has registered 18 assists—closing in on the all-time record set by Thomas Müller.

Bayern only needed a point after Borussia Dortmund lost 2-1 to Hoffenheim, but went a step further with a convincing win to mathematically seal the title.

With the result secured, celebrations began even before full-time, as players donned “2026 Champions shirts on the sidelines.
