In early December, Pinterest released its annual Pinterest Predicts report, which highlights major trends expected to take off in 2025. While the report covers everything from food to beauty and party planning, it also features exciting travel trends that Pinterest users are increasingly interested in.
For 2025, the big trend is all about “peak” travel.

Pinterest revealed that cities have peaked, and now, mountain ranges are set to become the ultimate travel hotspots. With a growing interest from Gen Z and Gen X travelers, people are seeking out treetop views and fresh mountain air. Pinterest calls it “elevacation” and it’s time to gear up for your next mountain escape.
Some of the top destinations showing massive growth include Portillo, Chile, which has seen a 255% year-over-year search spike. Other trending spots include the Dolomites in Italy, with a 45% increase, and the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, which has seen a 30% increase. Along with these mountain getaways, “skiing fits” and “mountain trip” outfits are also gaining popularity, with inspiration available from Travel + Leisure’s ski coverage.
To further promote the trend, Pinterest has teamed up with Marriott to host a Peak Travel Concierge pop-up in New York City. Visitors can explore what “peak travel” really means and get the inside scoop on top destinations. The event, running on December 11 and 12 at 173 Elizabeth Street, offers the chance to win trips to Cloudveil Jackson Hole and a Marriott Homes & Villas property. But act fast, as the pop-up is only open for two days!
