Senator Ned Nwoko: I Facilitated ₦30 Billion Projects to Transform Delta North

DELTA STATE: Sen Ned Nwoko has announced a major milestone for Delta North with the facilitation of development projects worth over ₦30 billion, aimed at revitalizing infrastructure and enhancing agricultural productivity across the region.

This substantial funding is being delivered under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, a national initiative focused on addressing Nigeria’s critical developmental challenges.

The projects are financed through the Presidential Special Intervention Fund, with a clear mandate to uplift rural communities and drive sustainable growth.

Taking to his official handle on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Senator Nwoko shared his enthusiasm:’ ” I am proud to announce that through President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, I’ve facilitated over ₦30 billion in projects aimed at transforming the lives of the people of Delta North and beyond.”

He emphasized that these projects are not only timely but also essential to meeting the pressing infrastructure and agricultural needs of the region.

Senator Nwoko revealed that several strategic projects are already in motion, with a strong emphasis on water management and agricultural enhancement. One notable initiative is under the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority, where major progress is being made on the construction of treatment plants and water reticulation systems at the Ogwashi-Uku Dam in Aniocha South Local Government Area.

Also, work is advancing on the Idumuje Dam project in Aniocha North, another key infrastructure effort aimed at tackling long-standing water challenges in the region. Senator Nwoko disclosed that over ₦7.5 billion has been committed to this dam, which will play a crucial role in supporting both household and agricultural water needs.

Beyond water infrastructure, the projects also prioritize agriculture, with a focus on expanding irrigation systems to enable year-round farming. According to Senator Nwoko, this approach is vital to improving crop yields, reducing dependence on rainfall, and ultimately boosting food production in Delta North.

To support this, the initiative includes the provision of quality seedlings, fertilizers, and modern farming equipment to local farmers, helping them transition from subsistence-level operations to more sustainable and profitable agricultural practices. These projects will address key infrastructure needs and improve agricultural productivity in the region,” Nwoko stated, reiterating his commitment to holistic development.

Wrapping up his announcement, Senator Nwoko reaffirmed his dedication to building a stronger, self-reliant, and prosperous Delta State. He highlighted the importance of strategic investments in both people and infrastructure as the foundation for long-term growth. “Together, we will continue to build a prosperous and thriving Delta State,” he concluded, pledging his continued efforts toward improving food security and ensuring that the people of Delta North have access to the tools and resources they need to thrive.

With these initiatives, Delta North is set to witness significant transformation, positioning the region for greater economic opportunities and improved living standards in the months and years ahead.
