A US aircraft marketing firm, JetHQ has withdrawn the listing of Nigeria’s presidential Boeing 737-700 Business Jet from its website, causing fresh questions about the fate of the aircraft.
When checked the jet previously advertised for sale could no longer be found online.
JetHQ’s Manager of Market Research, Laurie Barringer, confirmed the delisting in an email, stating:
We no longer have the listing on the Boeing. You will need to reach out to the Nigerian Government for information as to what has become of the aircraft.
This comes months after The News reported in October 2025 that the jet had remained unsold four months after it was listed by the Federal Government in July.

Before delisting, JetHQ repeatedly confirmed that the aircraft was still available for sale, although they declined to give additional information, citing confidentiality.
Records show that the jet underwent partial refurbishment in Basel, Switzerland, in 2024, including first-class seating upgrades, new cabin carpets, and major inspections.
The Boeing 737 BBJ, bought in 2005 under President Olusegun Obasanjo for $43 million, currently has an estimated market value of around $56 million, depending on condition and configuration.
The Tinubu administration had announced plans to sell the jet as part of its cost-cutting and fleet rationalization efforts amid rising public scrutiny of government spending.
What happens next remains unclear.
