ABUJA: The Federal Government, through the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, has shortlisted 20 Nigerian content creators to participate in a specialised training programme designed to improve public understanding of Nigeria’s newly introduced tax reform laws.
The committee said the selected creators emerged from 8,591 public nominations, reflecting growing interest among Nigerians in simplified and accessible explanations of the country’s evolving fiscal policies.
In a statement issued over the weekend, the committee explained that nominations covered more than 200 content creators across various digital platforms, underscoring the rising role of online creators in shaping public discourse on tax and economic reforms.
According to the committee, the 20 shortlisted creators were ranked based on the combined size of their audience reach on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), following weeks of public submissions.
The shortlisted creators are:
Financial Jennifer, Onlinebanker, Don Aza, Mary Efombruh, Baba Ogbon Awon Agba International, Perpetual Badejo, Personalfinancegirl, Tomi Akinwale, Emeka Ayogu and Aderonke Avava.
Others include Odunola Ewetola, Christiana Balogun, Mosbrief, Chidozie Chikwe, Zainulabideen Abdulazeez, Chinemerem Oguegbe, Oyagha Michael, Ayomide Ogunlade, Ayọ̀dèjì Fálétò and Vera Korie.
The committee said the selected creators will undergo a targeted training programme aimed at deepening their understanding of Nigeria’s tax reform laws and equipping them to provide clearer, balanced and insightful explanations to their audiences.
“This initiative recognises the growing public appetite for clear and accessible information on tax reforms and fiscal policy,” the statement said, thanking members of the public who participated in the nomination process.
Organisers encouraged Nigerians to help notify the shortlisted creators by tagging or mentioning them on social media platforms.
Each selected nominee is required to confirm participation by completing an acceptance form, with a deadline set for Monday, December 8, 2025.
The committee also called on Nigerians to suggest priority areas they would like the training to address, inviting comments and feedback on key tax-related concerns.
It said the programme forms part of its broader strategy to expand public engagement, improve tax literacy and strengthen civic education around Nigeria’s changing fiscal framework under the Bola Tinubu administration.
