Senator Ned Nwoko Threatens Legal Action Over Alleged Coordinated Online Defamation Campaign

ABUJA: Senator Ned Munir Nwoko has issued a stern warning to individuals he accuses of orchestrating a coordinated online campaign aimed at tarnishing his reputation.

In a statement released on Thursday by his communications team, the Delta North senator alleged that a group of persons is behind a pattern of cyber-stalking, harassment, and criminal defamation designed to create a false impression that he is persecuting certain individuals.

According to the statement, the sudden surge of videos and online publications targeting him is calculated to create a false narrative of persecution to serve ulterior motives.

Nwoko noted that he remains focused on his legislative duties, developmental initiatives, and business responsibilities, insisting he has no interest in what he described as fabricated online drama and distractions.

He also condemned what he called a rising trend of weaponizing public sympathy to shield alleged wrongdoers, warning that such behaviour threatens the nation’s moral values.

Part of the statement reads: Our attention has been drawn to a renewed pattern of online harassment, cyber-stalking, and coordinated defamatory videos and publications targeted at Distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko.

These actions appear calculated to create a false narrative of persecution in order to serve ulterior motives.

The senator’s team added that while he typically avoids social-media altercations, any serious allegations will be addressed through lawful channels rather than “misinformation or emotional manipulation.

Nwoko has now directed his legal team to petition the Inspector-General of Police, the Director-General of the DSS, and the Cybercrime Unit to investigate and prosecute those behind the alleged attacks.

He expressed confidence that digital footprints will reveal the identities of the perpetrators.

The statement also alerted U.S. and U.K. authorities, warning against attempts to manufacture artificial drama around a stable family structure to secure asylum or other advantages abroad.

The public was urged to disregard circulating narratives until due legal processes are completed.

According to his team, Senator Nwoko remains committed to dignity, responsibility, and due process as he continues his work.
