This development comes just hours after a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt scheduled a hearing for April 14, 2025, regarding a lawsuit filed by human rights lawyer Courage Nsirimovu of the Pilex Centre for Civic Education Initiative. Nsirimovu is seeking to prevent the appointment of new LGA administrators in the state.
Justice Adamu Mohammed, presiding over the case, did not issue a restraining order but directed that the Rivers State Administrator be notified to appear and explain why the request to stop the appointments should not be granted.
