President Bola Tinubu Congratulates the leader of the UK Labour Party, Keir Starmer, on his party’s win in the United Kingdom just concluded general election.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the President stated that as a former opposition leader in Nigeria, he is particularly impressed by the determination and courage demonstrated by the incoming Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during his time in opposition and as leader of the Labour Party.
The President noted that the party’s capacity to reform, mobilise, and position itself for victory after 14 years demonstrates Starmer’s leadership qualities.
President Tinubu also congratulates the inhabitants and government of the United Kingdom, hailing it as a steadfast model of democracy and Nigeria’s long-time ally.
“The President looks forward to deepening relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom in mutual areas of interest and in strengthening democratic institutions, as well as in building a safer and more prosperous future for the people of both countries,” according to the statement.
