Pastor Paul Adefarasin Reports to Lagos Police Over Viral Video Allegedly Showing Him Holding Gun While Driving

LAGOS:  Pastor Paul Adefarasin, founder of House on the Rock Church, has turned himself in to the Lagos Police Command after a viral video appeared to show him brandishing a firearm while driving an unregistered vehicle. He denies the object was a gun.

Paul Adefarasin, has voluntarily reported to the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja following the circulation of a viral video that appeared to show him holding a gun-like object while driving an unregistered vehicle.

The video, widely shared on social media, raised public concern, prompting Pastor Adefarasin to address the matter both online and during a Sunday church service. He denied the object was a firearm and claimed it was misrepresented to mislead the public.

That was certainly not a firearm, and at no point did I point such at anyone, Adefarasin said via social media.

In an official statement, Lagos Police PRO Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that Adefarasin presented himself for questioning and is cooperating with detectives No one is above the law.

Pastor Paul Adefarasin is being interrogated regarding the viral video. An investigation is ongoing, and its outcome will be made public.

During Sunday’s church service, Adefarasin claimed the video was a strategic attempt to create a viral controversy for clickbait revenue. This is not just an attack. It is a strategy to make money off clickbait; he told his congregation.

He also emphasized that he does not own a gun license, does not carry firearms, and that the object in question was taken out of context

Adefarasin rejected the suggestion that he threatened anyone, explaining that the alleged confrontation involved an aggressive content creator who approached him at close range. do not carry a firearm, and I pointed no firearm at anybody, he reiterated. He described the issue as part of a larger spiritual battle, not just a personal attack.
