ABUAJA: Nigeria’s headline inflation rate has declined to 16.05% in October 2025, according to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Inflation Report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday.
The new figure marks a significant drop from the 18.02% recorded in September, continuing the country’s downward inflation trend.
However, on a month-on-month basis, the NBS reported a 0.93% increase in headline inflation for October.
The report shows a slight moderation in food prices, with food inflation decreasing by 0.37% month-on-month.
This easing contributed to the overall decline in headline inflation.
With the latest data, October represents the seventh consecutive month of inflation decline in Nigeria for the year.
More details are expected as the NBS provides further breakdowns in subsequent releases.
