Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has addressed speculation about serving as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate in 2027.
Speaking on Politics Today on Sunday, Dogara said leadership isn’t about being perfect. I’m not perfect, he admitted, noting that history shows societies thrive because of ordinary people, not flawless leaders.
He reflected on his years in public service, including his tenure as Speaker Nigeria’s fourth-highest political office which exposed him to governance at the highest level. Everything I am by the grace of God.
I look at myself as totally unprepared, though I’ve gained experience and some rich pedigree, Dogara said.
While the former lawmaker didn’t confirm any VP ambitions, he remained humble about his capabilities, stressing that he is aware of his limitations
