Come 31st August 2024 in Asaba Delta State, Senator Ned Nwoko representing Delta North Senatorial District at the National Assembly is set to convene a stakeholders’s summit aimed at charting a common course on the creation of Anioma State as the 37th state in the Federation.
This all first epoch making Summit will gather all the important groups and who is who in Anioma land.
There is no better time to galvanize all and sundry under one umbrella to speak with unison in actualizing an age long dream of bringing together, people of common culture, language, and identity than the chosen 31st day of August 2024 at the Grand Hotel Asaba. No doubt, it is indeed *a Renewed Quest for the Creation of Anioma State*
Given the zeal, mass mobilization, energy and drive, being put into this all important quest by our Most Distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko, the Igwebuike Anioma Group believes so positively that Anioma State creation is already a reality.
Leaders of the Igwebuike Anioma, made up of various groups and persons from Ika, Aniocha South, Oshimili South and Ndokwa areas of Anioma land advised that all hands must be on deck to ensure that all and sundry support this noble efforts towards bringing Anioma people all over the places together.
According to Ogbueshi Godfrey Odogwu, representing the noble people of Oshimili and President of Asaba Development Union in Abuja, the realization of Anioma State
would provide an opportunity to preserve and promote the Anioma culture, language, and traditions thus making Anioma the cultural hub of Nigeria to the world.
Pastor Dr. Sunday Nkwor, who is the President of Umunede Progressive Union in Abuja, opines that economically, a separate state would allow Anioma to control its resources, develop its infrastructure, and attract investments tailored to its needs when created. He sees Anioma State to develop faster that any other states in the country presently
The Ndokwa Nekwu Union Chair, Mr. Moses Okolo enjoins every lover of anything good to ensure that this Summit is a must attend. He believes that creating the state would give Anioma people more political representation and a stronger voice in national politics.
On his part, Mr Patrick Obi, the President of Ogwashi Uku Development Association, sees no reason why any well meaning Anioma son or daughter should not join hands with our Distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko in actualizing this dream stressing that given the oneness of the Anioma people, the prevalent security challenges currently on in the country can easily be checked.
The confidence being exercised by the Igwebuike Anioma comes from a similar gathering of all Public Servants in Abuja earlier in the year, where the group played a major role towards realizing a *mammoth* turn out of over 1000 participants.
Think of the gathering of all the kings, the creme de la creme, President Generals of town Unions and Groups in Anioma land under one singular umbrella, then you are sure to know that it is a gathering not to miss.
The Igwebuike Anioma hereby give a nod and a sincere appreciation to God for giving Anioma land, a humane and benevolent forward thinking-looking Senator, Distinguished in every sense of it, to be the Senator representing the Delta North Senatorial District.
Signed:
Pastor Dr. Sunday Nkwor
