Abuja: President Tinubu has announced the establishment of ministry of livestock development The ministry was created out of the Federal ministry of Agriculture to oversea the livestock management in the country .
Meanwhile,The Establishment of the New Ministry of Lives stock development have received commendations from The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN. The association through the president Baba Othman -Ngelarma hail President Tinubu for taking the bold steps to create the ministry of lives stock development. Livestock Development which is long over due.
Baba Othman-Ngelzarma, in his statement on Tuesday, said the creation of the ministry would unlock the trillion naira livestock economy.
He also said that the ministry would create qualitative and productive jobs across the livestock value chain to improve the Agricultural sector and the Nigerian econo
The MACBAN president says with this development, he believes, the hope of the Nigerian pastoral is now achieved under the President Bola Tinubu Renew Hope Agenda.
“The promise made by President Tinubu, to raise the productive capacity of the Nigerian agriculture to ensure food security is being fulfilled.
As an association,we had for years been agitating to actualize the establishments of a stand-alone ministry to modernize and have a robust management of livestock production system in line with best global practices,” he said.
Mr Othman-Ngelzarma pleged support to the federal government to turn livestock production into a foreign exchange earner, and reduce the farmer/ herder conflicts and its related security challenges.
According to the association chairman, Nigerian pastorals appreciate this historic development, adding that they would reciprocate the gesture .
