The much-anticipated FCT Area Council elections are scheduled to be held in February 2026, and the political atmosphere is already heating up. Hon. Nnamudi’s declaration of intent has stirred significant attention, as she boldly asserts that, if the party primaries are conducted freely and fairly, none of her male counterparts poses a real threat to her candidacy.
Speaking to journalists shortly after obtaining her Expression of Interest and Nomination forms at the APC National Headquarters in Abuja on Monday, Hon. Nnamudi emphasized that her candidacy is based on merit, commitment, and a proven track record of grassroots engagement and service.
She noted that true political strength should be measured not by underhanded tactics, but by the ability to stand in an open contest without resorting to rigging, vote-buying, intimidation, or any other electoral malpractice.

I am ready to face the primary election with confidence and dignity, she said. I have toured all the wards in AMAC, meeting people face-to-face, listening to their challenges, and presenting my vision.
That effort has given me not only popularity but also a deep understanding of the needs of our communities.
Accompanied by a large crowd of supporters who cheered her on at the APC Secretariat, Nnamudi made it clear that her decision to join the race was fueled by persistent calls from residents who yearn for genuine and effective governance.
According to her, the current state of affairs in the council has fallen far below expectations, and many citizens are looking for a new kind of leadership, one that is accessible, accountable, and responsive.
People are asking for a return to purposeful leadership, she said. I was inspired by the legacy of Mrs. Esther Anazodo, the first and only female chairperson of AMAC to date.
Her tenure remains unmatched, and I am determined to surpass that benchmark and bring sustainable development back to our communities.
Hon. Nnamudi outlined her key priorities, which include empowering the youth and women, improving access to quality healthcare, especially maternal care, and investing heavily in education and infrastructure.
She believes that these areas are foundational to meaningful growth and inclusive governance.
Women are natural managers, she said. When you give a woman a house, she transforms it into a home. I want to bring that same transformation to AMAC.
I plan to turn this council into a model of development and responsible governance.
She did not mince words when addressing her male opponents, declaring, “There are 22 men in this race, and I’m the only woman. But I’m not intimidated. God has prepared me for this challenge, and by His grace, I will emerge victorious.
I believe the men will eventually rally behind me because they know I have the vision, experience, and drive to lead AMAC to greater heights.
Hon. Nnamudi’s entry into the race has added a new dimension to the AMAC chairmanship contest, and as the APC primary approaches, all eyes will be on whether the only woman in the race can translate her bold vision and grassroots momentum into electoral victory.
