ADC Appoints Oyegun, Utomi, Bugaje Others to Manifesto Committee

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has constituted a 50-member Policy and Manifesto Committee as part of efforts to develop a people-centred and forward-looking framework for national governance.

The committee, described as a Wise Men and Women Policy and Manifesto Committee, is chaired by former National chairman of APC Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, with political economist Professor Pat Utomi serving as deputy chairman. Salihu Lukman will act as secretary.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC said the committee was approved by its National Working Committee (NWC) led by former Senate President David Mark.

According to the party, the move aligns with its commitment to building a credible alternative platform anchored on sound policy, national consensus and responsible leadership.

The Policy and Manifesto Committee brings together distinguished Nigerians drawn from diverse backgrounds, including former public office holders, academics, technocrats, policy experts, civil society leaders and professionals, the statement said.

It added that members of the committee collectively possess experience in governance, economic management, social development, security and democratic reform.

The committee is mandated to articulate a clear and coherent policy direction that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians and positions the ADC as a viable platform for national renewal.

The party noted that the committee’s inauguration is scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja.

The ADC also recalled that it had earlier set up committees to review its membership register and draft a new party constitution, describing the latest development as part of a broader internal reform process.
